Nicole Illanovsky voted Most Valuable Player

Oct. 25 - Nicole Illanovsky, a Freshman Outside Hitter for the Lady Colts of Orange has been voted the Most Valuable Player of the 2011-2012 regular season. Voted into the All Conference Team are:

Lady Hawks Sweeps Doubleheader

Ends season with back-to-back wins

Oct. 23 - Rockland CC defeated Manhattan CC 25-14, 25-20, 25-14 in the opening game of a Region XV Double Dual event at Hostos on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Hawks then zapped Globe Tech in their regular season finale 25-9, 25-5, 25-10.

Albertus Magnus graduate Theresa Miller tallied 17 aces against Globe and collected 19 for the day. Teammate and Spring Valley High graduate, Khayla Rodriguez had 39 total digs, while North Rockland alum Joan Shurman led the team with a total of 21 kills.

Rockland finishes the regular season with a 13-8 overall record and will participate in the Region XV Tournament beginning Wednesday October 26. Their opponent and site are still yet to be determined.

Rockland splits doubleheader

Sept. 25 - The Lady Hawks split another doubleheader this weekend beating the Lady Falcons of Dutchess Community College before losing to the Lady Vikings of Westchester Community College.

In the first game, Sophomores Joan Shurman (West Haverstraw, North Rockland) had 18 kills while Christina Ruballos (West Haverstraw, North Rockland) had 20 digs and 13 assist as Rockland sweeps its season series against Dutchess 25-15, 25-13, 25-9. Marie Lang (New City, Albertus Magnus) added 35 assists.

In the second game, Rockland splits their season series with Westchester as they lost to the Lady Vikings 18-25, 25-21, 21-25, 17-25. Sophomores Khayla Rodriguez (Spring Valley, Spring Valley) and Marie Lang (New City, Albertus Magnus) recorded 30 assist while Christina Ruballos (West Haverstraw, North Rockland) and freshman Sara Rosaschi (Highland Mills, Monroe Woodbury) had 29 and 24 Digs respectively.

Rockland splits doubleheader

Sweeps Ulster in conference opener

Joan Shurman goes for a kill during game against UlsterSept. 17 - Host Rockland swept Ulster in the first match of a Region XV double-dual event at Rockland CC Saturday. Behind the strong play of North Rockland graduate Joan Shurman (five aces, nine kills), RCC posted a 25-18, 25-8, 26-24 victory. The Hawks lost their second match to rival Orange, 25-11, 25-20, 25-22. RCC is now 2-2.
